Alliance Learning goes to international lengths to employ Health and Safety training

(16.09.10) HEALTH and safety in the workplace should be high on the list of priorities for all UK employers yet statistics are still showing startling results when it comes to industrial and commercial fatalities.
According to the HSE, last year 151 workers in the UK were killed whilst at work due to failing standards of care; 19 of which were in the North West.
Bolton based training provider, Alliance Learning, have always be active in encouraging employers to take these necessary precautions. Most recently they have taken their commitment to H&S a step further by taking their training expertise international.
Wind Training, who have bases in Denmark and Poland, employed Alliance to conduct a Safety Passport and First Aid at Work training course to 27 of their employees in Copenhagen.
Following a recommendation from fellow Danish company MTH, Alliance Learning's Senior Plant Instructor, Brian Nicholls and First Aid Instructor, Tim Jenkinson went out to Denmark for a week's duration to deliver both courses.
Senior Plant Instructor, Brian Nicholls said:
"Many of the accidents that occur at work could be avoided if
simple and sensible precautions were followed. You can't expect
you're workers to be prepared for all of the risks that face them
on a day to day basis if you're not prepared to educate them."
The aim of the CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme is to ensure a basic knowledge of health and safety for all site personnel to enable them to work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others.
The course consists of safe working practices, accidents and First Aid procedures and working with cranes and heavy equipment, to name but a few.
The First Aid at Work course enables employees to act as qualified First Aiders in the workplace, proficient in all areas of emergency procedure. The module covers all aspects of sudden illness, wounds, fractures, resuscitation and communication skills.
Michael Bang, from Wind Training had this comment:
"The cooperation with Alliance Learning has been very professional and with focus on high quality. The instructors have received high evaluations by the participants in particular for their ability to deliver the learning in a way that applies to all."
Since returning, Wind Training have asked Alliance Learning to revisit Denmark to deliver further Passport and First Aid courses for their employees.
