BLACKBURN FIRM CONTINUES TRADITION OF INVESTMENT
The management team at Whitebirk-based Acme Refrigeration is celebrating being able to continue its long tradition of recruiting apprentices and investing in its workforce. The refrigeration, catering and air conditioning firm has supported Apprenticeships for more than 20 years and works closely with Training 2000 to deliver the training. (22/7/10)

Peter Wright, HR Manager at Acme Refrigeration commented: "We are thoroughly delighted with all of our apprentices and have developed many skilled workers through our long-standing and dedicated Apprenticeship programme with Training 2000.
"By introducing an apprentice development committee and supporting high levels of apprentice recruitment for more than two decades, we have been able to arm ourselves with a workforce boasting dedication, knowledge and skills.
"Our apprentices have made a real difference to the business and many have been promoted internally to senior levels, which is great for us as it ensures we will continue to deliver high levels of service for years to come."
Ian Cross, Career Development Officer at Training 2000 commented: "Acme Refrigeration has supported Apprenticeships right across the board and their continued support to the development staff within the refrigeration and air conditioning industry should be commended. They are a leading employer that provides quality support to their employees and always come up with innovative new ideas for training.
"We run Apprenticeship-focused recruitment events and Acme support those, as well as being instrumental in the success and growth of our air conditioning Apprenticeship programme."
Acme Refrigeration was named as a finalist in the Employer of the Year category of the recent North West Apprenticeship Awards and, in addition to this, a number of apprentices have been recognised in the industry-specific Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Awards, with two employees nominated as a finalists in the Apprentice of the Year category of this year's national finals.
