OUTSTANDING RESULTS FOR TRAINING 2000

North West Training provider, Training 2000, is celebrating achieving six outstanding grades at its recent OFSTED inspection.

Since its last inspection in 2005, undertaken by the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI), Training 2000 has improved from 'good' to 'excellent' in three areas and is rated in the highest two grades for every aspect.

In their report, inspectors praised tutors as "inspirational and motivating" and commented on the "excellent" resources and accommodation.

The report stated: "Since the last inspection, the company has improved success rates, consistently keeping ahead of national rates. For many learners, success rates are outstanding."

Inspectors were impressed by Training 2000's strategic plan and mission, underpinned by core values and also gave special mention to the training provider's commitment to diversity targets and initiatives.  These include re-engaging young people at risk of exclusion and attracting women and learners from ethnic minority groups into non-traditional areas such as engineering and construction.

Chief executive of Training 2000, Steve Gray, commented: "We are very pleased to have increased the number of 'excellent' ratings achieved across each of our sectors and I am very proud of the high standards maintained by our staff and learners.

"We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, employer-led training solutions and over the last 12 months have installed new training equipment worth over £1m, including a vastly expanded computer aided design and manufacturing facility, full dental surgery complete with X-ray machine and a new automotive workshop.

"We always strive for excellence and intend to take all the inspectors' comments on board.  Ideally we want to achieve grade one standards all round in our next inspection."
